How do I work out my monthly home loan instalment in Malaysia?
Take the property price, the margin of finance (90% on a typical first or second loan), the interest rate and the tenure. The mortgage calculator on this site does the amortisation and also shows the total interest over the tenure.
How much stamp duty do I pay on a Malaysian property?
Stamp duty on the transfer is tiered by price, and the loan agreement is charged separately at 0.5% of the loan. The stamp duty calculator applies the current tiers to both.
What is DSR and why does it matter?
Debt service ratio is the share of your income already committed to debt repayments. Banks use it to decide how much more they will lend, so it decides the price range you can shop in before you look at any listing.
